The Fall of Gondolin
In hidden halls beneath the starlit sky,
Gondolin stands where shadows die,
A fortress wrought with elven might,
A beacon in the endless night.
Whispers in the dark, a traitor’s hand,
Doom creeps slowly ’cross the land.
Flames consume the towering spires,
Echoes of fate in raging fires,
Blades clash and heroes cry,
As Gondolin falls from the sky.
Seven gates, could not withstand,
The fury brought by Morgoth’s hand,
Dragons roar and Balrogs stride,
The city’s hope begins to slide.
Idril’s tears and Tuor’s call,
Guide the lost beyond the wall.
Flames consume the towering spires,
Echoes of fate in raging fires,
Blades clash and heroes cry,
As Gondolin falls from the sky.
Eärendil, child of light,
Escapes the doom into the night,
To carry forth the final plea,
For mercy across the sundering sea.
Flames consume the towering spires,
Echoes of fate in raging fires,
Blades clash and heroes cry,
As Gondolin falls from the sky.
In ruins now the city lies,
Yet hope survives beyond the skies.
